Isaah Corbin Place
This property marked Corbin's Corner, now the intersection of Viewtown
Road and Seven Ponds Road, where a skirmish took place during the
Civil War.
Originally built for Isaah Corbin, later owners included Kib Hackley,
Mr. and Mrs. Streeter, Mr. and Mrs. Pauley, Mrs. Leonard (who operated
a nursery at the old post office site opposite Hackley's Store),
and the current owner, Colonel Ellis Bingham, a former Jackson District
Supervisor.
In Civil War days, Seven Ponds Road, whch now terminated to the
left of the house as seen here, extended straight through before
merging with Waterford Road.
