Hinson's Mill
The foundation for Hinson's Mill is thought to be shown here. Also
at the mill site were Hinson's Store (later Rector's Store) and
the Frost Post Office. The mill washed away in 1858 but was rebuilt.
A dam and raceway were located upstream of the mill. Hinson's distillery
was located up the hill from the mill. The current owners of the
property, the Slades, know its location.
The Hinson home, a large, two -story building, was at the top of
the hill as well; its foundation remains. The Hinson grave yard,
also visible, is located at the current tree line to the west, near
some stumps.
